About Coach

The Coach Story

Coach started in 1941 in a Manhattan loft, where six leather artisans made wallets and small goods by hand. The house built its reputation on glove-tanned leather — supple, hard-wearing, and finished so it improved with age rather than wearing out. That craft sensibility is still what separates Coach from most fashion eyewear: the frames are designed to be worn every day, not admired once and left in a drawer.

Coach eyewear is produced under licence by EssilorLuxottica and made in Italy. You will see the house signatures carried straight across from the leather goods — the Signature C canvas print laid into acetate temples, tea-rose and turnlock hardware, hangtag details at the hinge, and the warm tortoise and rose-gold palette the brand is known for. Frames run through classic squares and rectangles as well as softer cat-eye and round shapes, mostly in full-rim acetate and light metal.

At Charm Optical we carry Coach across both optical frames and sunglasses — the range leans women's, which is where Coach eyewear has always been strongest, with a smaller men's selection alongside it.
